WHO WE ARE
Katie Kempner, Founder
Kempner Communications was founded by Katie Kempner, an industry thought leader who has spent her entire 18-year career both with the renowned advertising agency CP+B and their holding company MDC Partners. Most recently Chief Communications Officer for CP+B, Katie oversaw global communications for the agency throughout their eight global offices. She initially originated the role of Communications Director at CP+B in 1996. Under her media guidance, CP+B and their work received tremendous industry and press recognition, which was instrumental in the growth of the agency. In January 2004, while continuing to run the CP+B communications department, she joined parent company MDC Partners as Sr. VP, Director of Corporate Communications where she helped establish their reputation in the US, oversaw all communications for the network and provided strategic communications counsel to their partner firms. In 2011, she returned solely to CP+B to focus on global growth.
Katie considers herself extremely fortunate that when she left to realize her dream of owning her own firm, CP+B came along as a client. A graduate of The University of Miami, Katie lives in Miami Beach with her husband, two children and two dogs.
Leslie Repetto, VP/Director of Client Services
Leslie Repetto is a VP/Director of Client Services with Kempner Communications, working closely with Katie to lead client partnerships and strategize and execute on their behalf. Leslie brings nearly two decades of experience in the advertising industry, much of that time spent as an account leader at agencies including CP+B, Arnold Worldwide and Modernista!, and with clients such as Volkswagen, Old Navy, Bolthouse Farms, Gap, MTV, Microsoft Bing and Converse.
While at CP+B, Leslie also filled the role of VP/Communications Director, which was her first stint working with Katie and where she was instrumental in the agency’s global communications work with a particular focus on the LA office’s evolution and growth. Leslie’s blended background in communications and account work has built her strong skills in brand strategy, process-driven collaboration with agency teams and a keen understanding of how communications efforts contribute to larger business goals. Leslie lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their very silly and sweet, always running toddler.
Erica Greenfield, Communications Associate
In her role as Communications Associate, Erica helps to manage client relationships, produces content and helps oversee social media management. With almost a decade of advertising experience, Erica has worked at leading agencies, including DDB Chicago, Energy BBDO, Alma DDB and The Community and has managed productions for clients like Netflix, Verizon, Sprint, McDonalds, State Farm Insurance and Clorox.
During her tenure in advertising, Erica continued to pursue her passion of writing by managing a lifestyle blog through the Sun Sentinel and supported the growth of Miami Happening as the first contributing writer for this local publication. She also has experience working with great publishing companies like Hearst, Modern Luxury and Sandow Media.
A graduate of the College of Journalism and Communications from the University of Florida, Erica lives in Miami with her husband and their adorable pug, Mia.
Alyse Lorber, Account Director
Alyse Lorber brings more than six years of communications, marketing and public relations experience to her role as Account Director at Kempner Communications. Prior to joining the firm, Alyse served as Associate Director of Global Communications at gyro, a full-service agency specializing in B2B marketing for top brands including Aflac, HP, Google, John Deere, USG and Vodafone. Alyse helped oversee global communications and brand marketing for the agency and its 16 global offices. During her five-and-a-half-year tenure, gyro received prominent industry recognition for creative excellence and thought leadership, and was recognized multiple times as “Agency of the Year” by Advertising Age, the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) and B2B Marketing magazine. Prior to gyro, she spent nearly a year at Time Inc. working in the publicity department at People magazine. A graduate of Ohio University’s renowned E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, Alyse currently resides in New York City’s historical and eclectic Lower East Side neighborhood.
Martha Kempner, Director of Content
Martha Kempner is a writer, content creator and Public Relations expert. She works with clients to craft compelling thought leadership pieces which have appeared in numerous national publications including Forbes and USA Today, website content and engaging social conversations.
Martha’s first book, 50 Great Myths of Human Sexuality, co-authored with Pepper Schwartz, was published by Wiley-Blackwell last year. She also writes for other print and online outlets including Scientific American, thebody.com, and bedsider.com. Martha spent over 11 years with the Sexuality Information and Education Council, SIECUS, where as Vice President for Information and Communications, she was responsible for all of the organization’s publications and websites and communications outreach.
Martha graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in political science and received her masters degree in human sexuality from New York University.
